And here's a pro tip: skip hotels.com and call Todd directly for the best rate. This is a wonderful, no-frills motel that doesn't compromise on the essentials. It was exceptionally clean from top to bottom, including the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable – we snagged a room with two king-size beds, which my husband and I loved. And our two teenage daughters were absolutely thrilled to have a giant bed instead of sharing a fold-out couch for once! Plus, they had a Smart TV and Wi-Fi. And yes, the window AC was a little loud, but no louder than any other window AC, and it was icy cold. We will definitely stay here again when our travels bring us back to this area.

Gerry's Motel: A Hidden Gem! Our stay at Gerry's Motel last night was absolutely delightful! This super cute motel is run by the most wonderful people, Todd and Barb, who truly make you feel at home. The rooms are super clean, which is always a huge plus. And the best part? There's a fantastic bar right next door with amazing food at a phenomenal price. You can't beat it! We’ve stopped here a couple times now over the years and we make this a priority stop! Highly recommend Gerry's Motel for a comfortable, friendly, and affordable stay.

The owners were friendly, and check in was fast. The room itself was clean, but the shower setup was not the best (one extremely high-pressure stream of water), and there was no freezer. The room/bathroom were also rather small, which is okay for the lower price. The TV was the size of a monitor or maybe even smaller. Overall, it is a good place if you need a relatively inexpensive and clean place to sleep.

My family and I were on a SD road trip and my car started overheating. We were able to make it to Kennebec to try and work on the car at the nearest gas station. We decided to just stay the night at one of the two motels in the area. Kings motel was full so we went to Gerry's motel. We were so glad we did. Barb and her husband were so kind and not only set us up In a lovely room bit also made us dinner at their bar in front of the motel. This place is such a hidden gem that we will make this stop a tradition every year. Thank you Barb for being our hero! My granddaughter was so cute and was always saying hello and repeated her name for the whole time we were there. The pizza was also amazing! Thank you Barb for such a memorable experience! You turned a low point into a great surprise!

Cleanest room I've ever stayed in -- newly remodeled, small but perfect for a solo overnighter. The lady owner couldn't be nicer, and she and her husband own not only the motel but the attached bar that I couldn't enjoy this trip but definitely will next time. Kennebec is great stopping point when breaking up a trip from Sioux Falls to the Black Hills.

Such a nice motel to stay at!! The rooms are indeed "very clean" as advertised right outside! And you cannot beat the price. I needed 2 beds which actually was 2 rooms with a shared bathroom so it was perfect and all that for just $69!! Amazing! Spoke to Todd when I made my reservation & told him we would prob be there a bit late. He told me they'd prob be at the bar next door & said where he would put my key if it got to be after a certain time (like after 10 pm). We made it ahead of schedule & the office was closed but Barb was just right next door at the bar and saw me pull up so she came over to check me in before I even had a chance to walk over there to find her. The beds were comfy and we slept so well. Perfectly located close to I-90 but nice and quiet. I really can't say enough good about this motel!! Absolutely recommend to anyone looking to stay in this area!

Perfect location on 90 if you're heading west. Very well maintained clean rooms. Have refrigerator and microwave. Barb and Todd were great hosts! Thank you both very much. Reasonably priced. I would recommend calling them and getting a price you may get a better break versus the internet. Thank you for the coffee in the morning and a great referral for breakfast.

The room was immaculate. The owners, staff, & locals are warm & welcoming. Highly recommend stopping into the Prairie Dust Bar on the property (same owners) for the chislic & the people. As a woman traveling solo, I would have skipped the bar, if not for the invite. If so, I would've missed a rich, memorable night of raucous laughter. Will absolutely stay here again, next time through.
